Low Calorie Cooking

Whether you're just getting off of the Fast Start Program or skipped it altogether and started out on the Regular Program it's time to learn how to eat smarter and make your calories count.

Simple tips to lower calories in your cooking,

1. Don't fry anything! Bake or steam your food instead - Frying foods requires adding extra fat and calories to your food. Baking or steaming are two methods that will allow you to enjoy your foods with a much lower calorie and fat count.

2. New Aged Kitchen Appliances and Gadgets are your friends! Electric pressure cookers, Nuwave/Flavor wave ovens and their alternatives (air fryers etc.) and ceramic coated pans are great time savers and allow you to either cut back on or completely eliminate added fats and calories to your meals. I have a few pressure cooker recipes available here along with many other low calorie recipes on the way.

3. Substitute sugars, oils, and dairy in your baked goods with natural fruit, nuts and Greek yogurt. There are many sweets and revamped old favorite recipes out there that teach you how to make substitutions and greatly reduce the calories in your favorite treats.

4. Learn from the Vegans. Though I am not personally a Vegan, I have learned quite a bit on how to cook and bake much healthier versions of my favorite foods as well as making new recipes by reading up on Vegan cooking.

5. YouTube and Google are great resources to discover new food products and cooking techniques. I've been very successful making my own recipes thanks to what I've learned. I'm now like a mad scientist in my kitchen and having a blast. I show off my new creations in my recipe videos regularly.
